Tick tock…

To ring in the New Year we had plans to visit 3 separate home parties.   I wanted to make something fun to go with the New Years theme, but I didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about it ahead of time with the chaos of the holidays and all.  So when I saw my friend Laura’s post on Midnight Snaps….I loved them ! So I decided to make something similar.
Because I started just hours before we were leaving, I didn’t use the exact recipe.  I had recently made sugar cookies based on this recipe and still had all the ingredients at home.   After making the dough and refrigerating it for an hour or so (I totally recommend refrigerating longer….sticky !), I rolled out the dough and cut circles using a round cookie cutter.
For the icing I used this Royal Icing recipe (again, I had all of the ingredients).  After the icing hardened I used the remaining icing, tinted it a lavender color and drew the face of the clock.  Because the icing was a bit thick, I only drew on one arm pointing at Midnight which kind of bugged me, but you get the point….I mean, they are cookies !

Thank you for the inspiration LLR !  I do wish they were gingersnaps…those are my fav !
