For Teacher Appreciation week, I wanted to make a little something for my kids elementary teachers. These teachers work SO hard all year and it’s nice to be able to show them, even in a small way, just how much we appreciate them.
I had to be budget conscious and clever however, because there are 5 teachers between my two daughters. (My son who is in 8th grade and has way too many teachers, so I have to draw the line at intermediate school. Sorry middle school teachers ~ we really do appreciate all of your hard work!!)
I remember seeing a cute tutorial via Skip to my Lou for teacher appreciation gifts which included accordion flower instructions and also a sweet printable that read “thank you for helping me grow up great!”. I loved this idea!![]() |

I decided how I wanted to present these gifts. Next I needed to find which to plants to use – petite-sized plants that is. So, while checking out of Trader Joe’s the other day, I found adorable spring cactus plants and most of them had colorful buds blooming AND they were petite!
Perfect.
I replanted the cactus (or cacti? ) into cute little teacups I found at my-favorite-thift-shop-eva – Savers. {this explains why I was looking for petite plants}.
I decorated each saucer with flowers and the teachers name, then placed each accordion flower (on large popsicle sticks) into each teacup.
I really love how they came out and my girls were thrilled to bring them into school for their special teachers!
Wishing all of you wonderful teachers a happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
