I {heart} Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!

Yup, I finally broke down and bought myself a quart of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I know, it’s a bit pricey at $39.00 a quart, but after hearing all of the wonderful reviews here in blog-land, I just had to bite the bullet.

The way I look at it, if this paint really works as well as “they” say, taking sanding and priming out of the equation, then it is TOTALLY worth it right?!?

I’m sure I am not the only Mama out there who, during the summer months when the kiddos are home, adds Entertainment Director to her ever-growing list of job titles.

Anyway, I was recently hired to refinish and reupholster 2 GORGEOUS and very large french-style arm chairs. These chairs were in perfect shape, but my client didn’t want the gold these chairs were finished with, she wanted a more neutral..  She also wanted to add some color with new fabric to match a floral couch she will use in the same room as the two chairs.
I decided to purchase some ASCP specifically for this job.  I knew this paint would be perfect for these gold-ish chair frames, especially since they were already textured and sanding would have been tough.
Now I can’t reveal the finished product.  I have only finished one chair and I am VERY pleased at how it came out.

So here is a lil’ sneak peak at my first piece painted with ASCP in Old White.  I tell ya what, this stuff is AWESOME! I totally love it, agree with all of the great press it has received, and I WILL be purchasing more down the road!
I used Minwax dark walnut wax but plan to also get me some Annie Sloan soft wax as well.

FYI – I bought my paint at Robyn Story Designs, they were wonderful to deal with, quick response and the shipping was really quick!  Just thought I would give them a plug.

I’ll keep you posted with before and after pics when I’m done and AFTER I reveal them to my client!  Thanks for visiting and thank you Annie Sloan for letting me spend more time with my kiddos!
