My husband and I went to a fundraiser last weekend.
We got there a bit later than we wanted to and missed the silent auction.
However, we were still able to buy tickets for the raffle items people had donated.
We bought 20 tickets ~ 10 tickets each and had fun going along all the tables, dropping tickets into the items we liked.
There were dozens of awesome raffles.
And SO many people showed up to support the family and the wonderful scholarship fund they have set up.
Some people are just so generous.
We ended up winning this fun movie crate filled with candy, a vintage inspired air popcorn maker, popcorn, movies and bowls.
For the record, I was the one who put the ticket into this raffle ~ just sayin’!
I was so excited to win! At the time I wasn’t even sure what we won, I just knew that we did.
Who doesn’t like to win things?
And donating to a wonderful cause?
I knew the kids would LOVE the popcorn maker!
And the candy too (me too!)….
But the one thing I was most excited about was the wooden crate.
I wanted to finish it and use it in my husbands office.
It would be perfect to hold printer inks, disks, etc.
I got to work.
First, I stained the entire crate with Minwax in Provincial.
I found a vintage inspired printable at Graphics Fairy ~ I LOVE all of her things!
Took out the Mod Podge, brushed it onto the back of the printable, placed it on the crate, smoothed out the bubbles and lightly Mod Podged over the entire page.
I also tore the paper in a few spots ~ for a more vintage feel.
Here’s how it came out…
I have seen these unfinished crates at Michael’s, A.C. Moore and the Mill Store if you want to make one too!
I may have to get myself a couple more too!

this is awesome!!!! I love the look of crates. and congrats on winning … what a great cause
Thanks Michelle!! And thank you for your comment! Sometimes I think I’m the only one visiting my blog!
