I’m in the Dollar store quite a bit, picking things up for birthdays, projects, Girl Scouts, etc.
{just love, love the store}
Anyway, I never noticed these heart shaped packages of rose soaps before.
I know, so pretty right ?!?
And they had several colors as well.
During my last trip to the Dollar store, I was just killing time while my son took his drum lesson a few doors down.
I wasn’t looking for the rose soaps at all.
Well, that was until I stumbled upon some and almost let out a big “yippeee” when remembered Desiree’s Dollar Store soap ball tutorial I had recently read.
{ I’m giddy at this point }
I mean, how gorgeous is this ?!?!
I know, her photograph is beautiful as well.
* sigh *
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grabbed 3 packages of white rose soaps and a square styrofoam block.
I didn’t want to be a total copy-cat, and pretty much knew what I wanted to make while checking out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using only 2 packages of rose soaps, a styrofoam block, some old sheet music, a ribbon, some pearl trim and lavender sprigs, here is what I made.
Don’t the roses look so real ?!?
And they smell like Vanilla, so it’s prefect for any room in our house.
I decided to put mine in our first floor bathroom.
I just recently re-painted our bathroom, again.
Lots of white, I’ll post pics another time.
I’m thinking these would be a lovely addition to any wedding decor don’t you ??
Especially if you’re on a tight budget !

So if you want to see how Desiree made her rose soap ball, check it out here.
( you will fall in love with her and her beautiful blog, trust me ! )
If you want to know how I made my rose soap “square ??” (not sure what to call it), here’s how.
#####
First I covered my green styrofoam block using strips of white crepe paper so the green wouldn’t show through the white roses.
Next, white pearl straight pins to secure the roses onto the block. I made 4 rows of 4 roses to fill the top of my block.
Next, I wrapped my entire block using old sheet music pages and hot glue.
Then I added pearl trim, a ribbon and a sprig of lavender for just a subtle touch of color.

It seriously WAS that easy and quick!
I really love how this ridiculously inexpensive, easy and pretty project turned out.
