Valentine teacher gifts

Teaching is such an admirable job.

A challenging one too I bet.

Teachers are SO important for our children.

Teachers are SO important to us parents.

Our teachers are instilling knowledge and teaching skills, that our children will carry throughout their lives.

They help us, day-to-day by educating and guiding our children.

Collectively, parents and teachers help shape our children, and their future.

Now that’s a big deal.

I’m sure we can all look back and remember a teacher that has had a positive impact on our own lives.

I know I do.

Sometimes we may take them for granted, or overlook just how important our teachers are.

We may even forget to say thank you.

I know I do.

I want our teachers to know how much I admire and respect their hard work and dedication to my children.

I am SO grateful for all of the wonderful Teachers my kids have, and have had over the years.

Some of these teachers have even become friends of mine.

We have given teacher gifts for Teacher Appreciation Day, Christmas, the end of the school year and for a special teacher who would soon welcome her very first child.

All of these teacher gifts were hand-made, the best kind of gifts in my opinion.

:)

So for Valentine’s Day, I wanted to make something special to give to my girls teachers.

Nothing expensive, just a little something to let them know how much they are appreciated.

Something that they could actually use in their classroom and something with a little personal touch.

Being in the third and first grade, my daughters just LOVE to bring gifts to school for their teachers.

My son, not so much being a Freshman in High School, those days are long gone !

Anyway, we decided to make them personalized pencil holders.

I bought all of the supplies for this project at Dollar Tree.

{ love that store ! }

~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is what I bought for three teachers:
::  3 glass mason type jars
::  3 packs of pencils (16 each pack)
::  1 bag of heart sticks
::  2 Valentine basket bags (2 packs per)
::  2 bags of glass gems
Here is what I had on hand:
::  red tulle
::  jute
::  3 wooden disks
::  red glitter glue
~~~~~~

The first thing I did was remove the top part of the mason jar.

Next I used my Cricut and printed mrs. in white vinyl three times.

Then printed the first letter of their last names in caps using black vinyl.

I simply attached the last name initial on each jar, then placed the mrs. directly on top of the letter.

Next, I added the gemstones, bundled up the pencils and tied with tulle (you could also use ribbon, jute, etc.).

I painted hearts on little wooden disks using glitter glue, drilled a small hole,

and tied them to each jar using jute for a little extra cuteness !

They looked really cute all put together, but I thought they needed something else.

Then I stumbled upon these pretty Hershey Kiss flowers via Craft Berry Bush blog, and I knew they would make a sweet addition.

{ pun intended :) }

BTW, You will LOVE Lucy’s blog, she makes SO many pretty things and has beautiful pictures like this one…

I got working on my own Kiss flowers using pink, bright pink and red crepe paper.

I added 4 flowers to each jar and then they were complete!

I used red, pink and silver Hershey Kisses for my flowers.

Have you tried the caramel ones ??

YUMMY !!

I wrapped each jar in clear celophane (from Dollar store), tied with a heart ribbon and they were ready to deliver !

I drove Myah to school today with her teacher gifts, I didn’t want her to take them on the bus since they are glass.

Elle is staying home with a bellyache.

:(

Myah was SO excited to bring her Valentine’s gifts to school to give to her special teachers.

I mean, look at that smile !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you for all of your hard work teachers, you are certainly appreciated by us !
~~~~~~

Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love, laughter and maybe even a few Kisses !
