DIY ~ painted Compass Rose table

I had this table I bought as part of a Bistro set several years ago.

It was a pretty set when I first purchased it from Stop & Shop of all places, but after a few seasons, the set started to look dingy.

Since I had leftover outdoor paint from my bench project, I decided to gussy up this tired-looking Bistro table and incorporate it to our outdoor living space for the summer.

I also decided to paint a compass rose on my tabletop since it was the perfect shape to mimic a compass.

I found a great website with step-by-step instructions on how to draw/paint a compass rose.

I painted the table indoors since it was raining and I didn’t take pics along the way, sorry.

I used craft paint which I mixed to make a green and a blue that I envisioned for my compass.

Once my paint dried, I lightly sanded and glazed over the entire table top to give it that “aged” look.

Here’s how it came out.

I haven’t painted the 2 chairs that go with my table since I thought it looked perfect along side these 2 adirondack chairs.

AND, the compass colors match the cushions pretty closely.

I didn’t plan that, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Weird, I’ve really been into the round DIY projects lately huh ???
